30th Aug 26 | Tuyo Circus Arts is Now Nottingham Circus Arts – A New Chapter Begins! 🎪✨

After more than 15 years of circus in Nottingham, we're thrilled to share the start of a very special new chapter.

Tuyo Circus Arts has grown and changed enormously over those years. We've taught thousands of hours of circus, watched children grow into young adults, welcomed complete beginners who discovered something they never imagined they could do, worked alongside artists and organisations, supported community events and created opportunities for people to experience circus in many different ways.

None of that happens without people.

We are incredibly grateful to every student, family, instructor, assistant, artist, venue, organisation and member of our wider community who has played a part in our story.

And through all those years, one thing has remained constant:

Nottingham has always been our home. 💜

We've delivered circus from a variety of shared and rented spaces over the years, and each one has been an important part of our journey.

But we have always dreamed of having somewhere we could truly put down roots.

For the first time in our 15+ year history, we now have a dedicated home of our own.

And for us, that means much more than simply having somewhere to hang aerial equipment.

It gives us the opportunity to make circus more accessible to the communities around us, develop more affordable and community-focused opportunities, expand the programmes available to children, young people and adults, and create a space that can be used for much more than our regular timetable.

We want our home to be somewhere where creativity can happen.

That means continuing to welcome people into circus, while also supporting local artists, creative projects, community activities, collaborations, and new ideas wherever our space and resources allow.

Circus has given us an incredible community over the past 15+ years. Having a permanent home gives us an opportunity to make that community bigger and to give more back to the city and surrounding areas that have supported us.

🎪 And with a new home comes a new name...

Tuyo Circus Arts is becoming Nottingham Circus Arts.

This isn't about leaving our history behind.

Quite the opposite.

Our new name reflects what we have grown into and celebrates the place that has been at the heart of our journey from the beginning.

We are proud of our Tuyo history, and everything we've learned and built during those years comes with us into Nottingham Circus Arts.

Same team. Same community. Same love of circus. A much bigger opportunity for what comes next.

✨ More than a new name

We've also been working incredibly hard behind the scenes to develop what we can offer our students.

Alongside the classes you already know and love, we're introducing our new student programmes, giving young people a way to recognise, track and celebrate their individual circus development without turning their journey into a race against somebody else.

Our developing Assistant Programme creates opportunities for young people who want to take their circus journey further, building practical experience, responsibility and skills as they progress towards coaching.

Our adults have their own new Adult Rewards programme, recognising the people who keep turning up, training and being part of our community.

And we're continuing to develop workshops, performances, events, holiday activities, experiences, community opportunities and collaborations from our new home.

There's still much more to come.

💻 Our website has grown up too!

Our old website has served us for many years, but if we're being fair to it... it was becoming a little tired. 😂

It was built for a much smaller version of what we once were and no longer reflected the range of classes, programmes and opportunities we now provide.

So alongside our new name and home, we've built a completely new Nottingham Circus Arts website.

It's designed to make it much easier to find the right circus experience for you – whether you're an adult wanting to try aerial for the first time, a parent looking for something different for your child, a Home Education family, an experienced circus student wanting to develop further, or someone looking for a completely unforgettable celebration or experience.

Fifteen-plus years is a lot of classes, a lot of people, a lot of memories and an awful lot of circus.

We've had wonderful periods and difficult ones. We've adapted, rebuilt, moved, learned and kept going.

But throughout it all, people have continued to walk through our doors and discover circus.

That's why we're still here.

We're incredibly proud of where we've come from, grateful to everyone who has helped us get here and very excited about what this new home will allow us to do next.

This isn't the end of Tuyo's story.

It's the next chapter.
